Radio Times

Another site added is for the Radio Times. The website is good but at the moment the hard copy seems hard to imagine as history.

VHS to DVD

I will put a link in to Personal Computer World. this has to be the basic reference work for the entire project. Other guides are available but this one has had the idea for the longest time.

A current article is all about moving VHS to DVD. The link will stop working soon as "thisissue" becomes an old issue. However I have invested in a samsung box that copies from VHS to DVD. Not very techie of me, but it works ok. Given that there is sometimes something on BBC4 worth watching live, the project of transferring VHS to DVD may take the next ten years so paper will have to wait.

Introduction

This blog is about digitising a home. I think I am fairly well interested in things digital but friends visit and point out that there is loads of paper, VHS tapes, even floppy discs that ought to be on some other format by now. One proposal was to do a TV program about the digital transition based on this site but I'm not sure I want to turn it into a studio.

So the PO Box is a representation of a house somewhere that also gets mail as in enveelopes and paper, at least for the moment. There could be a TV show in about three series going over the same points again several times. The people who visit can all appear to be consultants except that they might appear in a future series as the person living in the site. Not sure how the format will work, maybe people will have to try out in each role.

Now that therer is YouTube etc. and a world of 3 minute chunks, there could be variations and combinations. Some sort of script will appear soon.
